The Challenge

Chevron set out to leverage the LPGA’s first major championship as a powerful platform to raise awareness of its corporate DEI mission, deepen Houston-area employee and partner engagement, support charitable initiatives, and further highlight the company’s commitment to social responsibility. At the same time, Chevron needed to preserve the legacy and prestige of the LPGA’s first major while seamlessly transitioning the championship to a new market and community.

The SOLUTION

Chevron engaged Wilkinson Sports Advisory to help build a purpose-driven, impactful championship experience that aligned business strategy with community values. WSA manages Chevron’s comprehensive corporate hospitality program, delivering elevated experiences for key partners and stakeholders. In addition, WSA planned and executed a two-day leadership summit focused on the power of women’s sports, creating meaningful thought leadership and engagement opportunities.

Beyond hospitality, WSA supports Chevron’s broader mission through key community and youth-focused initiatives including an onsite HBCU Career Day, Junior–Legacy Pro-Am, LPGA Girls Golf Clinic, and a robust charitable donation program — reinforcing the tournament’s ability to inspire, connect, and give back.

The RESULTS

The Chevron Championship has experienced measurable success in visibility, engagement, and community impact:

  • 1.54 million television viewers in 2023, the event’s highest rating since 2010 and NBC’s most-watched program of the week

  • 1,000+ business partners and VIP guests participating in hospitality and leadership programming throughout tournament week

  • $2.95 million donated to Houston-area DEI charities through The Chevron Challenge

  • 100+ Houston-area middle school girls inspired through an onsite STEM and Girls Golf Clinic

Together, Chevron and Wilkinson Sports Advisory continue to elevate the Chevron Championship as a premier global sporting event with powerful community purpose.
